Near the village of Sami is Antisamos beach, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and scenic in Kefalonia.
If you have a couple of minutes, I'll tell you how to get there and what you'll find... I'll close my eyes to relive those moments as much as possible, and off we go!After a hearty breakfast, we grab our Panda, load up our gear (with two kids, beach toys are never enough), and off we go.
Staying in the south of the island, we take the road to Argostoli and can already feel the holiday atmosphere and the scent of Greek earth.
From there, following the signs, we cut across Kefalonia to reach our destination in the northeast.
You ascend and descend along roads that crisscross the mountains of Kefalonia, offering you the opportunity to observe wild and unspoiled nature.
Every now and then, on some slope, the vibrantly colored beehives that produce the delicious Kefalonian honey appear.
The closer we get to our destination, the more the mountain landscape gives way to the coastal one, offering absolutely unique scenery.
Having reached the village of Sami, we are almost there, just a few more kilometers and we will have our paradise.
You can tell something spectacular awaits you because as you drive along the curves of the road, the show is already beginning.
Glimpses of landscape that seem to have come straight from a masterpiece open up, until about a kilometer from the destination, you can't resist the temptation to stop in the inlet overlooking Antisamos beach.
From here you can admire the slopes of the ever-green mountains that surround the beach in an immense embrace and quickly plunge into the sea, an incredible natural beauty.

The sea then takes on the most beautiful colors imaginable, from perfectly crystalline and transparent water to an intense, deep blue that contrasts incredibly with the white of the small rounded pebbles on the beach.
A unique view when combined with the unmistakable scent of summer on the island.
We decide to quickly descend to enjoy the spectacle and the day that awaits us from within.
Antisamos is well-equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers, 3-4 rows, no more. It can get a bit crowded during the high season, though never excessively so.
You can grab a drink or a bite to eat at the beach taverna/bar, which plays ambient music.
But why is Antisamos beach so fascinating and beautiful?
Everything fades into the background when you get close to the water, the first thing you think of is to grab a glass and take a sip, it can't be this beautiful and transparent.
Then you look up and see that the seabed slopes away and the water turns a turquoise color with some rocks on the bottom where schools of fish of various sizes and colors swim.
So, ready, go, we put on our masks and snorkels, the kids quickly put on their fins and we stroll around in the water swimming.
You feel like you're in an aquarium, there's so much peace underwater and the clear sun beating down from above pierces the water, playing with the colors of the seabed.
I don't want to go out anymore, I think..
Someone gets the idea, my children—who else?—to throw a few biscuit crumbs and bread into the water.
In an instant, the schools of fish become myriads and swirl around you… a spectacle.

Our day continues in the tranquility of the vacation we've always dreamed of and in the awareness of what nature can offer you.
In the late afternoon, tired but well rewarded by such a wonderful sea and beach, we get back in our Panda to return to our accommodation. Along the way, we inevitably think back to everything we've done and seen, convinced that sooner or later we'll return.
Antisamos beach is now part of our experience.
