The tourist center of Lassi

Lassi and its beaches
The tourist center of Lassi and its beaches are probably the most popular destination for a holiday in Kefalonia.

Located about 3 km from Argostoli and the airport and nestled at the foot of two hills, Lassi is a small and charming tourist centre offering an exceptionally splendid sea as well as restaurants, shops, pubs, rentals, etc.

One of the most notable features of Lassi's town center is that it has developed progressively over time without, however, obscuring the natural beauty of the beaches with imposing buildings. Most of the buildings are, in fact, semi-hidden by the Mediterranean scrub

Thanks to these characteristics, Lassi represents the ideal destination for couples and groups of friends, as well as for families with children.

What will surely strike you are the small bays and beaches of fine, light sand that slope into a crystal-clear, turquoise sea, undoubtedly the ideal place for children to play

The beaches of Lassi

Among the beaches, Makris Gialos and Platis Gialos stand out, both very large, with fine, white sand and crystal-clear sea.

They are the most touristy and crowded on the island (especially in the peak season), equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas as well as showers, bars, and water games.

Not only that…

Also noteworthy are the splendid coves that form along this stretch of coast, some equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas and bars, others more natural but no less charming:

1. Gradakia is the first you come across, it is the deepest and is bathed by a sea of countless shades of blue, it has rocks on the sides that form small caves in which it is possible to swim.

2. Paliostafida is a strip of light sand interrupted roughly in the middle by a promontory and is perfect for children, as the seabed slopes very gently into a crystal-clear sea.

After enjoying a day of swimming and soaking up the natural beauty of the beaches and coves, come evening, Lassi offers a wide selection of traditional Greek tavernas where you can dine.

The center of Lassi will also unleash its full potential, with cocktail bars, dance clubs, pubs with big screens for watching live sporting events, creperies, and snack bars.

Lassi also offers a cultural note, in fact there is a small church called Saint Gerasimos, inside which is the “Cave of Saint Gerasimos”, the patron saint of Kefalonia.
