Zola village is located in the most spectacular area of Kefalonia with breathtaking landscapes and dream beaches.
Spending an unforgettable holiday on the magical island of Kefalonia also means being pleasantly surprised by places that aren't overly touristy and whose existence you might otherwise be unaware of.This is what happened to us during one of our recent holidays on the island.
One particularly hot day, talking with the inhabitants of the island, we accepted the suggestion to move further north and more precisely to Zola, where, according to them, we would come across something truly special.
The village of Zola is located on the mountain of Lakties, in the western part of Kefalonia and more precisely north of the Paliki.
So we did and packed everything we needed, eager to embark on a new adventure on a splendid day around Kefalonia. We got in the car and off we went.
Once in Argostoli, we continued north along the eastern coast of the bay of the same name for about twenty kilometers, following the winding hilly roads constantly battered by the scorching summer sun, but which offer superb natural landscapes with the sea as the protagonist.

Arriving near the village of Zola, we admired the view from above of the enchanting bay ofMyrtos with beaches such as AghiaKyriaki and Vouti and began to descend along the narrow streets that lead to the sea.
The first impression we had was that of having gone back in time.
A small harbor with a few boats moored and a couple of fishermen busy working on their fishing nets, a very old-fashioned tavern overlooking this stretch of sea and behind it imposing hills that enveloped the entire village in an enormous embrace, all in an almost unnatural silence.
A truly unique snapshot that gave us a strange sensation, torn between the intimacy of the place and absolute freedom.

From this small port, you can borrow a boat from the fishermen or take a taxi to the beaches of Fteri, Kamari, Melissa, Amidi , and other small beaches in the area, all with sand or small white pebbles and crystal-clear turquoise waters.
The village of Zola, whose last census in 2011 puts its population at 101, is of unique, wild beauty and offers numerous paths ideal for walking.
It's a truly traditional little village, so much so that in the morning a car passes through the village streets carrying fresh bread, brioche, and freshly baked focaccia for breakfast—a simply fantastic and adorable tradition.
At the end of Zola's main street is a very long bench about 20 meters long where for many years, especially in the summer months, locals have gathered every evening to chat while their children play.
Situated in an enviable location, roughly halfway between the magnificent Myrtos Bay and Petani Beach, which, along with Antisamos, are considered the most spectacular on the island, the village of Zola offers breathtaking views of the beaches of Kyriaki and Vouti.
