Spectacular beaches, among the largest and most scenic in the entire Mediterranean, are a true revelation for lovers of sandy expanses or snorkeling enthusiasts thanks to the magnificent bays that line the coast.
The beaches of Kefalonia are enchanting natural wonders spread along the 254 km of the island's coastline.
Highly contagious, they convey unique sensations, perhaps because of the evocative settings in which they are inserted or the intoxicating colors that paint them as if they were masterpieces. We don't know, but we are convinced that their magic will captivate and excite you as it did for us.
We want to tell you about the charm of Kefalonia's beaches as soon as you reach them, glimpse them from the island's heights, and can't wait to get there to immerse yourself in their nature, their scents, and their freedom.
Let's begin this beautiful journey through the beaches of Kefalonia and to better identify their location we have hypothesized to divide the coastal surface of the island into the 4 cardinal points:

The beaches of Kefalonia – NORTH area
In this part of the island, centered around the village of Fiskardo, you'll find beaches of sand, rounded white pebbles, and rocks.
There's truly something for everyone, and the views you can enjoy in this area are truly superb.
Here are the beaches located in the north of Kefalonia that we recommend:

The beaches of Kefalonia – Southern area
In the southern area, in addition to the capital Argostoli, we find almost exclusively sandy beaches, with the small exception of Skala, at the southernmost tip of Kefalonia, where the beach is a mixture of sand and small, fine pebbles.
This area is very spectacular especially because of the bays, some very well hidden, that you encounter during the journey from West to East.
These are the beaches you'll find along the stretch of coast from Argostoli (on the left) to Skala beach (on the far right) that we recommend:
- Kalamia
- Makris and Platis Gialos
- Megali Ammos
- Eglina
- Admes
- To the Helis
- Avithos
- Paliolinos
- Spartia
- Pessada
- Lourdata
- Sisia
- Katelios
- Kaminia

The beaches of Kefalonia – WEST area
The western stretch of coast mainly extends along what is called “the finger” of Kefalonia, a peninsula, Paliki, whose main centre is Lixouri and which has both sandy beaches, including red ones, and well-rounded white pebbles.
Even in the western area we can enjoy breathtaking natural scenery, especially during sunset.
Our suggestions for the main beaches you should visit in the West are:

The beaches of Kefalonia – Eastern area
The beaches we encounter along the east coast of Kefalonia are mainly made up of rounded pebbles and in some stretches of rocks.
The eastern stretch of coast of the island has Poros and features small, highly spectacular bays, mostly hidden.
The beaches in the eastern area that we recommend are the following:
- Skala
- Porto Skala
- Kato Lagadi
- Poros
- Antisamos
- Agia Efimia
- Chorgota
