How to get to Kefalonia?
You arrive on the island by air.
In the summer months, it is connected to some of the most important airports:
- from Milan Malpensa with Easyjet or from Milan Orio Al Serio with RyanAir flights (in both cases 1 hour and 40 minutes of flight)
- from Bologna with Blue Panorama flights
- from Rome via Vueling and Blue Panorama
- from Venice with Volotea.
Alternatively, throughout the year, it can be reached via Athens with daily flights lasting about an hour, with Aegean Airlines.
Kefalonia can also be reached by sea:
- With ferries departing from Bari or Brindisi, the travel time is approximately 24 hours
- With ferries from Bari, Ancona or Venice that stop in Pastras or Igoumenitsa, travel times are approximately 36 hours
How to get around the island of Kefalonia?

By bus:
The Ktel line departs from Argostoli, where you can find information on available routes and schedules.
This service covers various areas of the island at very affordable prices.By taxi:
The central taxi rank is also located in Argostoli, in Valianou Square, or at the airport.
Radio taxis are available, or you can use them on the main streets of popular destinations. Fares for popular destinations are predetermined.
By car or motorbike:
Since Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands, with distances between its main towns ranging from 10 to 50 km, the ideal means of transport for exploring it with complete freedom are a car or motorbike.

By boat:
An attractive daily ferry service connects the island's two main towns: Argostoli to Lixouri and vice versa, taking about 20 minutes each way.

From the small port of Zola, you can take advantage of a boat rental and taxi boat service to easily reach beaches and coves accessible only by sea, such as the splendid Fteri.
