Fiskardo and its beaches are located at the northeastern tip of Kefalonia and in the past, more precisely in the 1970s, it was a small fishing village.
Over the years, the port has attracted an increasing number of private boats and yachts that have called here before reaching Greece.
Fiskardo is a picturesque village and the island's most famous tourist destination, captivating visitors from all over Europe with its unique charm—it could be described as "the Greek Portofino."
Nestled amphitheatrically around its small bay, it will surely captivate you with its colorful Venetian-style houses, crystal-clear sea, and small restaurants overlooking the harbor offering traditional Greek cuisine.
The village is truly beautiful, and strolling around the harbor and the narrow streets of the center is delightful and evocative. The walk from the harbor, through the pine forest, to the lighthouse on the tip of the island, offering sweeping views of the island of Ithaca, is truly magical.

There are essentially two beaches in the town:
1. The first beach is well-equipped as it is very close to clubs, restaurants, bars and shops, but it is quite crowded due to the fact that, being close to the pretty port, there are many sailing and motor boats that moor there.
2. The second beach is located further south, continuing along the coast and before reaching Foki beach, it is decidedly less crowded, surrounded by olive trees that occasionally provide shade from the sun and by houses that follow one another along the entire coast.
About 1km from Fiskardo there are two stunning beaches, definitely more spectacular than those in the village: Emplisi and Foki, to be precise.
1. Emplisi beach is made up of white pebbles, small but deep, and is not equipped for tourists, but perhaps this is a good thing, and now you'll understand why.
It's paradise! At least that's what comes to mind when you see the sea off this beach.
Incredible colors, exceptional transparency, it looks like a swimming pool, or better, much better!
Perfect for lovers of masks and fins and for those who love to take endless swims.
On both sides of the bay there are rugged coastlines rich in vegetation.
And it is precisely the intense green of the trees reflected in the sea that gives shades of color tending predominantly towards emerald rather than blue.
It's simply impossible to resist this sea!

2. Foki beach is made up of white pebbles mixed with sand, also small in size but deep, and is located at the end of a very deep bay with very calm and transparent sea.
It is surrounded on one side by a very rugged coastline full of cypress trees and on the other side by old ruins.
The most interesting feature, however, is the presence of a cave located along the right coast as you look out to sea from the beach.
It can be reached either by swimming or by following a small coastal path.
The cave appears small, but upon entering, you discover a very high vault and several tunnels with small rooms inside, which appear to have been used as shelters by the inhabitants during the war.
From the port of Fiskardo, you can rent a boat or join a tour to visit the coast and stop at beaches not accessible by land.

Today the village of Fiskardo and its beaches are so famous that every now and then you can come across an international VIP sitting in a restaurant or simply having a coffee.
Stars such as Madonna, Tom Hanks and Nicholas Cage have come here.
